CLASSIC NIA

Nia is feel good fitness for the body, mind and soul. It is a barefoot cardio-dance, wellness practice that blends diverse, energizing music with easy to follow choreography. Moves are inspired by the power and precision of the martial arts; expression and playfulness of the dance arts; and the mindfulness of the healing arts. As an ongoing practice, Nia promotes mindful awareness of the body and increased joy.

YOGA

Yoga is a mind and body practice. Various styles of yoga combine physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation or relaxation. Yoga is an ancient practice that may have originated in India. It involves movement, meditation, and breathing techniques to promote mental and physical well-being.

The beauty of yoga is that you don’t have to be a yogi or yogini to reap the benefits. Whether you are young or old, overweight or fit, yoga has the power to calm the mind and strengthen the body. Don’t be intimidated by yoga terminology, fancy yoga studios and complicated poses. Yoga is for everyone.

JOURNEYDANCE

In JourneyDance™, we dance without mirrors to release judgement of ourselves and others. JourneyDance™ is not about learning steps, it’s about revealing, recovering and re-discovering your natural intuitive movement. We activate imagination and utilize diverse forms of freestyle improvisational dance, yoga, ritual, theater, and shamanism to a soundtrack of inspiring world music, creating a barefoot ecstatic celebration of the human spirit.

FREEDANCE

Nia FreeDance class and practice focuses on stimulating people's uniqueness, creativity, and self-expression using movement form and freedom. Through dance and somatic guidance, students learn how to intentionally craft multidimensional, (that is, body-emotion-mind-spirit) creativity. Student learn truly listen to their body and practice being seduced by the music, to allow emotional expression and increased movement variety.

Sense the freedom of letting go of self judgement and approach movement with curiosity and wonder.
